I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes.
I have been given a movie on 2 VCD discs, These discs play perfectly on my friends cheapo Pacific stand alone DVD. They do not play on my Philips 622. Now we come to the wierd piece and my problem. The discs according to his and my computer are blank.![]()
Using diagnostic software on these discs tells me that the discs contain the data but it is in an unknown format. The discs are not formatted as standard VCD or any other disc format I can think of. WTF.
This is not a hardware fault as all other discs read OK. I have 3 drives in my puter 2 Plextor CDRW and 1 memorex DVD with the same result from them all. At first I thought that the discs may be in another format ie MAC or Atari etc but on checking thats not the case.
Anyone any ideas why a cheapo standalone DVD player can read these and yet a state of the art PC can't ?![]()
