Hi. I'm trying to convert from 8mm tape to pc, but it doesn't let me get it properly. It keeps coming up with copy protection message, though it lets me capture some bits of the video. It's a home video, so not protected.
Is it just that tape is too old or is it smth else?

More information would be very helpful. What's your capture process and hardware? Some cards, video recorders and software have a 'false Macrovision' problem.

 And welcome to our forums.

Well, I'm using EZCAP for Win 7, I have 64-bit pc. I have tried both ArcSoft ShowBiz and Power Director 9 and same problem with both. It's all working fine with VHS tapes, just the 8mm ones are problematic. Not all the time though, I recorded about 30 mins of video before it started playing up. Got one tape done with some bits missing, but managed to get only some few seconds long clips from the other tape...
