  1. ive been reading that people are also using virtual dub for subtitle encoding but im reading bout this prog and all i see is that its a video capture program? i see that youre supposed to add in filters for subs but is that for typing your very own subs on the video like a character generator(typeDeko for example)? cuz if thats the case i can do that at work but shit! thats gonna take me a enternity do sub all my movies that way!

    Of course you can write your own subtitles using sub station alpha. But since you posted in the dvd ripping forum, this should not be necessary.

    I first rip the vob-files from my dvd with Smartripper 2.41 using Movie mode then I load the .ifo file in flaskmpeg 0.6 there is asked what sub language I like to have and select the right language audiofile . and 2 - 3 hours later I have a ripped movie with subs !!
