I know it's a dumb question but still...

I need to convert analog VHS tapes to DVDs. DVD would be my end result. I want my end result to be
as true and as close to the original picture of VHS as possible. I can do it 2 ways. I can have Win TV capture it in (pseudo) lossless UNCOMPRESSED RGB 24 bit avi and then use TMPGenc to convert it to DVD format MPEG 2. I have 120Gb hard drive. Or I can have Matrox RT2500 capture it in DV avi or even MPEG-2 and then with bundled Adobe Premier convert it to DVD compatible MPEG 2. I'm awared that RT2500 is 7 times as much as Win TV. But that doesn't really matter. What I've heard was that Bt878 are not capturing in 24 bits. It's basically 16 bit which is stretched to 24 bits. I don't know about RT2500 so I'd like to hear different opinions.

PS. I will not be considering Canopus or Pinnacle. Only Matrox, maybe Osprey 2000
