  2. IF YOU HAVE'NT CHECKED IT OUT YOU SHOUD RIGHT NOW. IT IS SET UP FOR FITTING 150 MINS OF HIGH QUALITY VCD ONTO ONE CD. THE TEMPLATE IS WRITTEN FOR PAL FORMAT AT THE MOMENT BUT WITH A FEW EASY STEPS IT COULD BE ENCODING NTSC IN NO TIME.

CHECK IT OUT YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED

  6. Hi The Jackal:

Could you be refering to the template I submitted, and the NTSC settings have been changed to reflect the PAL settings?.

If so, go to the site, and download some samples.
The templates are posted there too. Both NTSC and PAL.

  7. Hi bilbogod:

Did you check the site lately?.

Your sample is the best looking, because of the PAL source.
I've had many "jaw opening" comments from it!

Wish we had that luck here on the NTSC world

  8. Cheers for the feedback......I was wondering if the clip looks better because Science fiction space movies have more black areas (i.e space itself) etc resulting in more available bitrate for distribution elsewhere.
    Just a thought.....
Also I've never done an N.T.S.C to PAL conversion, but would it not be the case that people putting in 625 lines of converted 525 data are gonna have picture problems ?? Just a thought.....

  9. Yeah!. The biggest problem is really the frame rate. Not the resolution.

The type of film on Farscape did help a lot on the size, because of low lightning conditions. But the quality is awesome!.

I just finished the complete movie "Rules of Engagement" and it compressed to 785,920MB complete 2 hours and 7minutes.
    Came out great!.

    So happy Mpegging!.
