  1. Greetings All:
I am trying to convert a Disney .AVI movie to a .MPEG1 using a combo of VirtualDub(recent ver) and TMPENG(also recent ver). Here is the problem: I extracted the audio from the movie with VirtualDub(all fine), then converted the AVI while using the uncompressed WAV. I get no video while the conversion is taking place, and after the conversion is done and burnt on a standard cdr(fits fine and no errors) there is sound, but no video from either my puter or my home dvd player which supports cd, cdr, cdrw, vcd, svcd, dvd, dvdr, dvdrw, mp3. So I get sound in every aspect, but no video in any of them.
    Thanks in advance:
    Don

Try loading the AVI into Vdub, select video and audio streaming, and save as, save out another copy of the movie, then try converting that new copy with TMPGEnc.

    Hi

Ok so you load it into Vdub and saved out another copy...

Then you load this new copy into Vdub, is it playing ok ?

Right click on the AVI select properties, what codec was used ?
When you load into TMPGEnc can you preview it ?

Don't make any VCD until you get things working in these programs.
