SVCD on Panasonic RV-31

I've heard that there is some way to get the rv31 to play SVCDs. I read somewhere that you had to change standard compliance or trick the player into thinking it is a VCD. My model is the DVD-RV31U-K. Could someone please tell me how to do this with Nero v. 5.5.
