    Hi all.

I have some corrupted mpeg files. They show duration as few seconds while they are actually more than an hour of recording each.

I have used VideoRedo to fix some of them but for most others, VR just hangs up.

I have heard that it is one of the best of its kind in the market; however, I would welcome any other options equally good or better.

    Thanks and regards.

  2. As a generic file fixer, there is probably none better. However, to handle specific problems, there may very well be a better solution. That would require finding out what, specifically, the problem is.

Any help with that issue will require a LOT more information.

  4. Are you using the QSF (Quick Stream Fix) tool in VRD or just loading it into VRD and trying to save it? Also, are you running the latest beta version? Lots of fixes in the betas.

Have you tried posting in the VRD forum as the developers are fairly active there and may be able to help you directly.

Yes, I am using the QSF option in the Tools menu. I am using version 2.5.3.500. I think I may not be able to use the latest version as I do not intend to have a paid upgrade to my version at the moment.
I checked VRD forum but its showing 'down for manitenance' at present.

What more information would do you require? Please guide me and I will find it out for your review.
    Regards.

  7. "What, specifically, the problem is".

If the only issue is the indicated length a simple demux/remux usually fixes that.

Forum seems to be fine and there's a link to version 2.5.7.600x in the first post in the V2 and V3 support section.

I think I forgot to mention; with most files the program does not open the file at all; it hangs up. If it opens the file, I can try the remux one or maybe others.

One option is to try to convert the mpg file into some other format. And then maybe it can be fixed?

Yes, you are right. The forums are working fine now. I will post and see what advice I can get.
    Thanks.
