    Hi there, I'm just about to buy a laptop off of some dude. I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with the DVD players that are in Gateway 9100s. Just wondering if they'll be able to support VCD playback.
    Since the DVD player is hardware based, I hope this means I don't have to rely on silly old .avi, because the beast only has 4MB of video memory (!).

    Any CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM is able to play VCD's.
