    Hello All!

I'm pretty new to the whole dvd ripping thing but I think I understand it for the most part. My question is this...I'm using DVD Decrypter to rip, and DVD2AVI to downmix the audio to 44.1kHz.(so that I can play on both PC and stand alone DVD) and TMPGEnc to encode and split the .mpg into 2 parts. Everything seems to work great. I haven't had a problem ripping any of the .VOB files yet. And the audio sounds really good too. I complete the process using Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum to burn the parts to cd. And it all looks like it worked great. I can play the burnt cd with Windows Media Player from my cd-rom drive and in my pc dvd drive.
But.....(you knew that was comming) when I try to play it in my stand alone Samsung 739 DVD player I get the problem error message. Now I read the onsight info about my player and it seems that the "type" of cd media might be the problem, I'll check on some different brands. But is there a way to look at properties or any software that will let me know if the VCD disks I'm making are valid and done the right way?(meaning...that they should work on home dvd players)
And that I just need to get the right combo of media and dvd player? Does that make any sense? I hope so! Either way I'm having fun dealing with something new!
Please let me know if you have any ideas!

    Thanks,

    MrCairo 8)

  2. ive tried a few types of media , and DATASAFE CDr media is the only disk ive found that will work on most standalone players (even when stated in the user manual that they wont play CDr) of course this may not be the case for you , but you can only try..........p.s if you find a better media id really like to know about them.
