    So far all major free video players i tried can not play the clip without audio lag.
    commercial player like PD played perfectly.

  2. minor correction it's video lag instead of adui lag as mentioned in original post.
    audio leads the video while playing in free players.

    have you tried VLC?
    also virtual dub with the plugin

  4. i hv tried all free players the can be found here on VideoHelp including VLC.
    one thing i hv noticed now is PD shows correct total playable time is 7min 48sec while media info reports it to 5s 5ms which is wrong.
    i just down sampled to v=9000kbps and it works fine in almost all free players i v tried before.

    I assume that this is a MKV? You could try changing the framerate to 60000/1 in MKVmerge and see if that helps. I don't know why MKVmerge has so many sync issues when you add elementary streams, even when you set the framerate to the correct framerate.

    I had a music DVD today that I tried to convert to MKV. It was supposed to be 4 minutes at 29.970 but it ended up 8 minutes at 29.970. Changing framerate to 59.940 made it 4 minutes and it played correctly in all players.

    36.9 Mbps is a lot for a SD file though.
