  1. I lot of people want me to convert there family video over to DVD. If I buy the canopus ADVC, and covert over to DV footage, and then use TMPG to convert over to best highest quality MPEG2, ,,can I fit this on one DVD disk?
How are you guys doing this. What software or settings do you use to covert a 2 hour tape , to a good or high quality DVD??
Let me know what steps I should do.
And how long does it take.

Thanks a bunch. You guys really know your stuff!

    dogfish,

I'd start out by first learning how to to vcd and svcd's on CD'r/rw's.

Then, when you're man enough you can move on to DVD disks.
It's really not worth the effort and the $$$ if you're just a newbie
wanting to strike out real quick. But, heck, it's your money dude.
I just don't think you need to buy a DVD burner (at least not yet)
Its just not cost affective at this time, and especially for a couple
    of projects.

Go with CDr's first. Really. Make a few VCD/SVCD's and see how
they like it. You don't have to say it's a VCD. just say here's a
disk to play in your dvd player.
