    British actor Pete Postlethwaite has died aged 64 after a lengthy illness. His work covered every genre, from the gritty noir of "The Usual Suspects" to the escapist adventure of "Jurassic Park : The Lost World" to the social realism of "In the Name of the Father". A great actor who elevated every role he played.

    Not sure whether this series exported 'over the pond' but he was very, very good as the evil Sargeant Hakeswill in the 'Sharpe' tv films set in the Napoleonic Wars.
