new member here but long time reader of the forums (around 7 years)
my hr-s5912u died . without any use (few hours) just been plugged
and didn't survived (power failliure) 75$ to repair ...
so i found a hr-s5800u for around 200$ , will serve only as a player
also have a sanyo player tracks well but kinda gives big pixels and boost too much colors
looking for a way so it'll last a lot longer then my other jvc !?
maybe just pluging it for the setup and capture and then put it in safe place when done(!?)
would also like to know more about my 5800u (mint condition) didn't test it yet
not much can be found on the web saddly i don't have the manual for it
around 200 tapes maybe to work with , taped with my old quasar of cable
and will have tons of questions for you guys (if i can't find any answers)
and by the way i'm french speaking so sorry for my basic english
happy holidays to you all

one thing they seem to need is a good power surge protector. the power supplies seem to blow out if not used just like yours did
