  1. I am an avid Pro Tools user and am turning my attention to video editing, of which I have a tiny bit of experience from high school. I just took my hand at using Windows Movie Maker and was left unsatisfied. I was hoping for a more Pro Tools approach featuring multiple video tracks that you can line up to keep multiple angles synced like for a music video. I'm looking at getting Final Cut 4.5 (highest version I can use with my G4) and am curious if this features the multiple video tracks I'm searching for.

Any help would be super appreciated

Most of the "pro" editors (Avid, Premiere, FCP, Vegas) allow multiple video tracks. Also they have multi-cam to single track features.

Once you have all the tracks, you need a DVD/Blu-Ray authoring program to create the disc.

I hate to ask random questions but does Vegas require any hardware? I was surprised by the low price

    It requires a PC ?

The recommended specs are on the site.

Be aware that there are different versions of Vegas. Vegas Pro is the high end version that will do multi-camera editing.

Depends what format you are capturing.

The Platinum and Pro Vegas programs cap DV, or HDV over Firewire. Also, MPeg2 or AVCHD over USB-2.

Like FCP, you can add a Black Magic Decklink for SDI or other pro format capture.

Vegas is for Windows PC only.

Im a Sony Vegas Pro User since 2007.
It is really good video editing software.
the best feature for this is it can import .VOB file format and much more so you need not to convert most of your video files except flv videos.

    best regards
