I'm the proud owner of a new... used ADVC-500 unit. But, it didn't come with an AC power adapter. The unit takes a 12 volt Coaxial Power Connector. The manual said that the 6 pin Firewire cable cannot power the system bus. Also, the ADVC-500 is no longer supported by Canopus.

I purchased a Bytec "100W 2 in 1 AC/DC Universal Laptop/Monitor Power Adapter w/ USB 5V Charge port" from NewEgg. It comes with 10 different plugs and can be set to 12 volts. Guess what: none of them work.

Here's my research from Wikipedia about Coaxial Power Connectors:

Anyone have a similar experience searching for the correct AC/DC Power Adapter? Can someone tell me what I need to power up my unit?
