  1. I couldn't decide which section would be the best place to post this, so I put it in here. I have an mpg video clip of our wedding and wanted to know what would be a good way to take still shot pictures from this video. Looking for hopefully freeware.

    Most players can do this - MPC, VLC, The KM Player will all grab stills. Note : You will not get photo quality stills from most sources unless you have high quality HD source to play with.

    Thanks! Yeah, I know the stills will be low quality as the video was done with an old VHS video recording from about 20 years ago. I ripped it to computer some time back and was just going to see what they would look like.

  4. Try VirtualDubMod. Video -> Snapshot Source Frame. If you want images resized to correct for aspect ratio, or just bigger or smaller images, apply the Resize filter, then Video -> Snapshot Output Frame.

    VLC snapshot follows deinterlace filter selection (try Yadif).
