  1. I had recorded/captured a program from my incoming Tv signal in mpg2 format to show in my college for educational purpose. However i have strong waves floating from top to bottom - the type you get when a signal is too strong (if you get what i mean).

Is there anyway NOW to rid/minimize my video of this by reprocessing and if so how?

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue

You have some form of interference with the signal which must be eliminated first or the problem will continue.

These problems occur where industrial type equipment is used nearby or within line between you and the broadcast tower ... You can also have this problem if an industrial type appliance is sharing the same line which provides power to the system ... You'll need to discover what it is and rectify ... There has been some in the past where the issue was the result of an aging power supply.

As for software it's hard to determine how to correct once it's already been recorded ... Not only do you need to add filters but they would need constant adjustment to keep track of the problem as it moves ... vegas might be worth trying

  3. The Neat Video filter might be able to fix it. You'll need to find a flat featureless area with just the noise to use as a training sample.

If there's not a lot of motion in the video a very heavy temporal filter might work too.
