Free ones that may be worth looking at are SUPER and XviD4PSP.

I understand the hassle, but all-in-ones usually suck. It's so much better when an encoder/GUI/converter/etc is dedicated to very few, or one, format(s). Since every format has it's own peculiarities and temperaments, it needs it's own optimizations and features, and an all-in-one may not do as well handling all of them.

If your production house wants to open the budget for a Professional all-in-one app then look into MainConcept and their encoder called Reference which handles pretty much everything (you'd have to buy the codecs separately though as plugins).

The companies I know that use it are generally quite happy with it and its customizations.

Yep.its true.cant really get those all in one works well.lots of limitation.im trying to download SUPER but it always encounter error msg.may b my line is bad.it looks good bcos we can change settings from size, ratio, mbit etc..

Is H264 or Xvid is the best compressor ?sometimes i need to convert 1GB of MOV file to below 10MB file but maintain the quality.its really take my time converting it.

  4. The "best" codec depends on your needs. Xvid delivers good picture quality at low bitrates and is compatible with most set-top Divx/DVD players. H.264 compresses even better but requires more CPU power (for both compression and playback) and set-top Divx/DVD players will not play it. Most of the newer standalone media players like the WDTV Live can play h.264 video.

    That's a little extreme isn't it? That would be a 100 to 1 compression....

yep.that's definitely sounds extreme if you wanna convert 1gb to below 10mb.i need to email this 10mb to my client.if im sending bigger MB it will take time to upload & download.the problem is this client is such a smart a$$.they are downloading HD movie with mp4 format but still maintain a high quality but lower memory.so they use it as an excuse why my video im emailing not in HQ.

This is normal among the demanding and unaware among some clients. I've seen some even ask for VHS -> blu-ray in HD quality. Really!
