Hey everyone!
I got a MKV file and I want to insert an extra audio track to it.
Basically, I extracted the audio track from an DIVX/MP3 file to plain mp3 audio. Now I want to insert this mp3 audio into the MKV file using MKVTOOLNIX.
The mp3 audio I want to insert has about the same length of the mkv video stream but needs to be properly synchronized (+/- 2s).
My question is, how can i insert and sync this new audio track properly?
thanks.

mux the audio track with mkvtoolnix

in a media player use the +/- keys to add/subtract ms delay until it's synced up (make sure you enable the correct audio track or remove the other audio track first) . write that value down

open the file in mkvtoolnix, highlight the audio track, format specific options tab, enter the delay value you wrote down, press start muxing

Note: if the lengths are different between audio & video track, you won't get it in sync with this method - it's a constant delay scenario (e.g. if they are different theatrical cuts, or PAL vs. NTSC versions - it won't work)Last edited by poisondeathray; 18th Oct 2010 at 10:35.
