Does exist a VFW mpeg2 I frame HD codec YUV 422 in all the world?
That is not matrox mpeg 2 I frame codec, because it internally converting rgb-yuv gatto grr and I like a only yuv?!?
and That is NOT ffdshow because it don't work well as mpeg2 decoder
Or does exist a VFW decoder of mpeg2 YUV 422 files generated with FFMPEG?
thanks

If you are looking for free software, the answer is probably "no". MPEG-2 is patented, so there have only been a few free encoders or decoders of any description because of licensing and royalty issues. I did find this paid product in a search: http://www.etymonix.com/products/VideoCodec/VideoCodec.htm

Not sure but perhaps http://sourceforge.net/projects/deinterlace/files/DScaler%205%20-%20Alpha%20MPEG%20Filters/0.0.8/ can solve your problems...

Not sure why you need a VFW codec, but if you were using VirtualDub, you can 'frameserve' directly to some WDM MPEG-2 encoders.

etymonix VFW is a SD only codec. Does exist a etymonix softreel DirectShow codec that are HD but I can not use it on my NLE (In Sync Speed Razor 5.51) because my nle can import only via VFW
Dscaler? I don't know very well but seems to me it's not properly a codec
In virtualdub, with the FFinputdriver plugin, I can open my .mxf files but I have don't understand very well how to frameserve my NLE Speed Razor. With ffdshow I can frameserve the NLE when I able ffdshow-VFW--> mpegINavi=libavcodec and set the registry of windows mpg2=ff_vfw.dll ... but using ffdshow in this way the ffdshow don't decode well my avi files (first frame is black, deblocking, seeking difficult: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/360350-ffmpeg-flv-encoding-high-quality )
I understand... I'm forced to the mjpeg... -
vdub's frameserver works in RGB only
Another option is to frameserve with avisynth , avfs or avs2avi. It makes a "dummy" or "fake" AVI that works in VFW system. Performance is slower than native editing because of overhead, and you lose metadata eitherway if you frameserve
You're not "forced" to use mjpeg , there are other better NLE's with native XDCAM support. Some even "smart render" XDCAM , meaning cuts only editing incurs no compression losses (just a few frames around the cutsite)

mmm ... but I'm poor, I live with my parents and I have 5 (FIVE!) cats. Hoewver is not true that Speed Razor can import only via VFW: it can take also from directshow but strangely for each clip imported via directshow (including MXF files) the total amount of usage memory RAM increases, when it reaches the quota of 1,2 - 1,3 GB of RAM used it crashes
it is very strange this, at the maximum I can import only 15-20 clips. Otherwise I have to disable the DS module so it can take only from VFW.
Natively it support MJPG, BOXX (.mov) and uncompressed avi file. -
It's kind of heartbreaking to see that you have beautiful XDCam footage that could be brought into Vegas or Premiere Pro instantly and you're forced to go through all this. Best of luck.
-
premiere pro... bleaaah. Speed Razor can manage audio like no other. It's just that I can not import the files properly to maintaining native quality, mine is just a little big problem, however I spoke with my cat and possibly he does not agree to use programs other than speed razor ^^

I know. That's why I've held my tongue in this thread up till now.
