  1. I have an mp3 that is about 3 min long. But I only want the first 2 min, becasue the rest is a different song. Is there any program that I can use to edit it? Thanks

P.S.-Sorry, about posting an mp3 question. But only vcdhelp.com forums have people that know what they are doing when it comes to editing, burning, converting, or just about anything dealing with multimedia files.

  2. I use two programs to deal with mp3 cutting/editing.

The first is Nero Wave Editor (bundled with Nero 5.5+). It's fast enough and uses Fraunhofer encoder/decoder engine which is about the best quality you can have with mp3s.
I think the trial version of Nero 5.5+ does include Nero Wave Editor, give it a try at http://www.ahead.de

For more advanced editing I use Cool Edit Pro with Mp3 plug-in. This is slower and more complicated but the options and overall control it gives you are far superior. It also uses the Fraunhofer engine. Disadvantage: No Trial version with Mp3 support.

Remember that any time you edit/save an mp3 file the quality degrades. Hope this helps.

  3. The easiest to use is GOLDWAVE from

    http://www.goldwave.com

It is shareware, but can be restarted after the register reminder comes on, and it starts over. You still get plenty of time to edit your file.

If you want to save as MP3, you will have to download one of the MP3 plug-ins, but they tell you how to do that at the site.

This is the easiest to use, IMHO.

There plenty of software for editing mp3...
Soundforge is one of the best, after 4.5g version.
Just go to a search engine, and type "mp3 edit software freeware"
    You'll get links for life!
