I'm trying to figure out how to make video using effects similar to this one:

    https://vimeo.com/12849341

Perspective shift that makes the cut out people look a bit 3-d and gives them dimension.

Does anyone know how this video was made?

    Thanks,

    Eric

  3. It says right under the player "I made this title sequence for a big european tv Show (on Eurosport) about soccer, using stills and camera projection technique."

Though it seems to me it would be easier to simply place the "cut-out" stills into 3d space in After Effects manually.

    AE isn't 3D space. It's 2.5D.

What it really is called is "Card Animation". The plane layers can tilt in full 3D, but the image will distort unless you can really use the cameras good, then you can do broadcast quality 3D.
