Is there a way to fix this, and more importantly, prevent this from happening again? I used a lossless codec from MSU, and i made this video with camstudio. Anyway, here is the resulting file. Can it be fixed? Can it also be prevented? It's supposed to be a video of a woman's shoe, but as you can see, it's all slanted. Please advise...

Could be the div by 2 issue ... what ever you recorded should have a resolution of both height and width being divided by 2 ... anything else may produce slanted video ... should be able to load the video into virtualdub, video set to full processing then apply video > filter > resize ... make sure height and width are dividable by 2 ... video > compression ... generally xvid or other.

If audio is included set to full processing then compression.

Once done go to file > save as ... choose location to save new file and name it ... and let virtualdub run the task.

Now the new file should play as expected.

Thanks Bjs!! That did the trick. Note to self: Make sure height and width are divisible by 2.
