  1. I upload my video to my computer but only one clip will actually be in the movie. What could I be doing wrong?

    Do you mean not all the video transferred to the computer? - or - Do you just want a part of the whole video?

    Make sure the camcorder has the whole video in it. Also, did the transfer stop at about 4GB? That may be a limitation of your file system.

    You really haven't provided enough information for us to even make guesses.

  3. In addition to what redwudz says (and asks), I have had better luck just doing a copy and paste to transfer FLIP videos from the camera to the computer.

  4. redwudz, I don't think I am computer savvy enough to explain myself clearly. It seems as though all the video transferred. I transferred 8 clips to make the movie but when I played it back there was only one of the clips in it. The camcorder has the whole video in it and the transfer did not stop at all. The entire video uploaded. It just looks like I'm trying to make a movie with only one clip.

    Drop the transferred video into MediaInfo and see how long and big it is. Maybe all the clips are there but not showing properly.

    If you only ended up with one clip, then the problem is with the transfer. If you haven't tried what TreeTops said, that might be the best method of transfer.

    I'm also wondering what clip you ended up with, the first one or the last one transferred. If last, then maybe the others overwrote the first ones.

    What did you play it back with? You might try VLC to see if it plays it all. It uses it's own codecs, so if it works, then you may just have a playback problem. Both are freeware programs.

    Using a PC

    MP4 file location on the camera:
    My Computer->Flip Video Icon->DCIM Folder->101 Video Folder
    copy the contents of the folder to a location on your hard drive and begin experimenting.

    You could use something like MP4Cam2AVI to convert to a better video container for more generic editing.

    Good luck with your project.
