  1. This is maybe a very silly question: how to use the job control function? I don't know how to add and edit jobs in the job control window.

I just have bought a TV-Wonder and record TV programs by Intervideo's WinDVR. Using MPEG-1 format, 6400K/s, the quality is good enough for me.

But the program automatically cut the recorded file if the file is larger than 4GB. So when I compress the MPG file into Divx format, I have to work on two files. I hope I can use the job control function to save some time.

    Thanks.

    ps: My computer: Atholon 1G/256MB PC-133 SDRam/SIS735 Board/IBM60G(60GXP)

  2. capture into avi format, picview mjpeg at 18 or 19 quality setting would give better results than the mpeg for video with relatively the same size or probably smaller.

then if it splits the file, you can append the second file with virtualdub into one editable file, as long as they were captured with all the same parameters (framerate, audio, video size etc.)

when you edit a file, you press save and click add to jobs

then you open the jobs and start the jobs whenever you want.

if you want to save the file and re-edit it later, you have to save the processing settings when you are done editing and then load the processing settings again to re-edit. once you add to the jobs, you cannot re-edit the job.

  4. one prob though.. either i was mistaken or he changed it or hopefully removed the option so I dont think im going nuts. I tried a save and reopen for a file today and didnt work. so guess there is no way to re-edit a edited file once you close virtualdub.
