Lately it seems BDRebuilder has gone sour on my Windows7 machine. I've been using Shark's codec packs, but I'm too frustrated to deal with taking off the Bing Bar and Windows Live Signon Assistant every time I install or back off a version. Anyone know of a good general codec pack for video conversions on Windows7? I'm especially looking for anything with PGS subtitle support. But I just can't take uninstalling 2 programs every time I install one. I need a general codec pack that doesn't put crap on during the install.

Ffdshow and haali media splitter are what you need, codecs pacs like sharkies and klite are crap as you found out. Also multiavchd is good fpr pgs subtitles,i use the tools that come with it to make and edit pgs titles.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
Thanks for the input. I tried this Matroska pack.. seems a lot more compact. Don't know what to think of the installer hanging though.
Maybe it just waited forever for a download from a dead page.
If it doesn't work out then I guess I'll put the individual tools on one at a time.

I found out what was driving me crazy!! I had updated the codec pack. I forgot with BDRebuilder, you have to make sure FFDShow and Matroska Splitter are the versions from the beta thread. As soon as I downloaded and installed those with default settings, it encoded again.
