below i've copied and pasted my pc specs incase anyone has that question

i was just hoping to be pointed in the right direction on how to learn to make videos/video edit. i'm hoping to get a video out there quickly because it's time sensitive. what i'm looking to do for the moment is add video parts together, add external audio ( music) to the video, add text in the form of a blackboard leading into video clips, etc. lol, may sound kind of basic to you guys, but i can seem to find out how to do this. i've been searching the net during spare time and to no avail.

i'll also need to be able to transfer this video via the net to an editor. could use youtube as we have a youtube page.

my camcorder is a panasonic hdc-tm15 utilizing avchd. yes, i research the cam, but wasn't smart enough to research the avchd crap.

not asking to be spoon fed. i'm willing to do my work. just hoping to get a helpfull hand with a link or links.

thank you guys very much for any help....

With those computer specs, I'm skeptical about your CPU and I don't see where you have a dedicated video hard drive. For editing, you should consider Vegas or Premiere over Pinnacle, and if your computer still chokes, you would need to add Cineform Neoscene to smoothly handle the AVCHD files. (All 3 of those editing programs come with titlers, so you don't need a cheesy blackboard.)

As for honing your video skills, a good place for beginners to start is Videomaker magazine. Go pick one up at your nearest newsstand. It will offer helpful tips and lead you to places where you can learn more about shooting, editing, and distributing your works.

Good luck and try to have fun.
