Looking at buying a Sanyo 6400 Beta VCR simply cause its the closest on Ebay to me. 25 bucks, guy says its in great shape. But is this or was this ever a good beta vcr? Will it eat tapes? Is it easy to change belts on if need be? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!

I had a late model Sanyo Beta machine and I know I saw a Sony model that was identical to it at the time, indicating that the Sanyo was a Sony relabeled. Couldn't get better than Sony for a Betamax.

Sony never rebadged as Sanyo. Sanyo are inferior decks with poor picture quality and even poorer special effects. Buy a Sony. I used to own 14 of them. Sony did rebadge some Zenith early models. Toshiba also made beta decks. They were good quality well made decks. There picture quality fell between Sony and Sanyo.
