I have been trying to solve this problem for nearly a year now and have investigated nearly every converter on the market. But first a little story about a bad experience. When I first tried to do this the only thing I could find that worked even remotely well was the Daniusoft Media Converter Pro. The trial version(which provided a minutes worth of video) worked well enough for me to contact the company to see if they could help me fine tune it a little. They did and then convinced me to try the real thing. So I paid my $30 or $40 and went on my merry way. Well, about a minute 20 into the real conversion the video went sideways and the audio was slow and out of sync with the video. I again contacted them and they tried to work with me for approximately 6 months. We got exactly nowhere. They then told me that it was my computers fault. So I tried the conversion on my Daughters computer which is state of the art. Still no luck. So I was finally told that they were doing an update to the software that would be due out this fall for me to wait and they would see to it that I got the very first copy. Well that was supposed to happen in September. About two weeks ago I contacted them again and they told me that they had a completly new product out called Daniusoft Media Converter Ultimate that would surely fix my problems and would I like to try a trial version. Sure I says, and I try it and it works fine. So I ask for the registration code to get the full version. Not so fast they say, I was promised an update not a completely new software package. So if I wanted to get the new package I would have to pay another $20. But I figured what are the chances of lightning striking twice, right, so I pay them another $20. About a minute and 20 seconds into the new conversion the video went sideways again so I wrote them back again and complained and haven't heard from them since. Anyhow after trying all the conversion packages I could find, most of which didn't work, I have found that the only one that does the job is DRM Buster. Next in line would be a package called AllMusic Converter. So I am about to plunk down another $50 for DRM Buster and my question is has anyone out there bought it that can tell me if the damn thing works or not. I would appreciate anyone who has experience with this package let me know what they think.
Thanks for letting me vent..
Best,
Rod

surely the video is available elsewhere in a different format. what is it that's worth a hundred bucks?

Nope, its called Murder By The Book and it ain't available nowhere else and I got a slew of them. So I was stuck.. -
Tunebite works very well as does SoundTaxi. Each as a different approach to the way it gets the video. iTunes places it self between the application and the display driver and thus gets the video after its been through the DRM stage. So it first launches iTunes and then starts the player after which it starts the copy process. SoundTaxi on the other hand just takes the iTunes file and cracks it open so there's no contact with iTunes. Both application allow you different output formats and bit rates.
Go For It....
