I'm looking for information/help on a Bogen Manfrotto 3063 Tripod Video Head.

I've recently inherited one that wobbles, and when I can tighten up some of the bolts to get rid of the wobble, I get too much friction.

I'd like to take it apart to clean/lubricate it, but am reluctant to do so without some guidance. The area in need of the most help is the part that rotates around the vertical axis. It seems that I need to disassemble the up/down (rotation around the horizontal axis) section to allow me to remove the bolt that holds the friction plates for the left/right (vertical axis) rotation.

Just to close the loop on this.

A jar of the fluid (Part# R116,23) is available directly from the Bogen Imaging parts department at 201-818-9500 for $10.34 plus shipping.

Kudos to Bogen Imaging for offering personalized customer service and for promptly replying to my email with useful information. Good service can be hard to find these days.

Also, disassembly of this fluid head was very straightforward.

I cannot find this link. I too have bought a 3063 head and find that there is some play in the base that allows some wiggle on the vertical axis before the vertical pan begins. I made the mistake of overtightening the vertical center screw that holds the base on and broke it off. I am about to use an easy-out to remove the broken screw tip from the bottom that is still attached to the base.

I took the horizontal screw (the one with the handle) and tried to pull the center out from between the two cheeks, but it won't move. I am not about to force anything again, but can someone point me to this tutorial?

Also finally, how do I eliminate this wobble? The whole black head base moves rocks very slightly before the fluid axis moves.

Thanks in advance to all that contribute.
