Hi, I'm using TovidGui v. 0.31 on Ubuntu 8.04 to convert Xvid/avi to dvd. Converts and burns but from halfway through a 1 Hour video sound and video go out of synch. Is this a known issue and should I just use DeVeDe? Or Avidemux?
    From the log....
„Running command: makedvd -quiet -author -burn -device /dev/scd0 /tmp/Untitled_disc.xml“

    And later...
    „STAT: fixed 7 VOBUS

    STAT: fixing VOBU at 0MB (17/7644, 0%)

    STAT: fixing VOBU at 2MB (33/7644, 0%)...................STAT: fixing VOBU at 1085MB (7633/7644, 99%)

    STAT: fixed 7644 VOBUS „

    Can somebody help here please?

    Hi
I use tovid with the command line with Ubuntu.
The loss of sound/video sync is probably caused during the conversion process from avi to mpg.
You should check this out before you burn.

With the command line there is an option to specify ffmpeg for the conversion.
If there's a ffmpeg option with the GUI then try it if you decide that conversion is causing the sync problem.

Yep, problem occurs with encoding. So I tried Avidemux....no more synch issues.
So now I need an app (preferably gui) to make a dvd from mpg2. Tried DeVeDE and it returned...
"Failed to create the DVD tree; maybe you don't have enough space."which is rubbish.
Any ideas on a dvd software to create dvd? And thanks for the help

    Use tovid.
But with the 'Encode' tab ensure that ffmpeg is selected for converting the source file.

Thank you for your help, with ffmpeg converting everything perfect. I have one more question...on creating menu I'm stuck on „Default“ font. So I downloaded and exercised (to /home folder) „ Anthony Thyssen's imagick_type_gen.pl script“ from the Tovid Wiki but font isn't seeing any more fonts as default. Any suggestions please?
