Ok I have a weird one, wasnt sure where to post it...
I shoot content for an american company on my Sony Z1E HD camera... they want me to send them the original HD Mini DV's instead of capturing the video at this end...
They dont want to spend a fortune and buy a Z1E HD camera... they want to know what would be a good option for them to buy camera wise to process the video, capturing it from the camera onto their computers... without losing quality ???
They are looking at the Sony HDR-HC3e should this work for them ?
Also we shot everything in PAL, and they obviously use NTSC... should this make a difference ? Should they still capture/render in PAL or NTSC ? Will this effect the quality of the video ?
Sorry to sound like such a newb... but I am lol

Please use a better subject. I changed it. You can adjust it by click on edit and go advanced.

Send me their info. I can shoot the footage for them and get it to them easily. I can do a professional job and know the business much more than you. I can even do editing, if needed.

lol no thanks... they are my US partners, they are not looking for any one new to do their work... my video work is just fine, thats why they partnered with me lol... the simple question is what camera is best for them to grab the content with... but thanks for trolling my thread... nice start for the community !

My video camera exports via firewire to my laptop using video inport wizard. PAL or NTSC. The video either way is playable on a pc.

I'm just saying that you are not equipped to run a professional business if you are asking such a basic question on a message board. It is not in the best interest of your clients.
Also, you are basically trying to get other people to do your job for you anyway. You know your client, so you should be able to answer any questions for them. If we do it, they should become our client.
I outsource all the time, for things that are outside of my specialty. -
I'm continuously amazed by people who pretend they are professionals in the media fields (video, photo, web, writing), and have absolutely no clue WTF they're doing. Good grief.
Also we shot everything in PAL, and they obviously use NTSC... should this make a difference ? Should they still capture/render in PAL or NTSC ? Will this effect the quality of the video ?Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

they're pretty much trapped into a pro cam because you mistakenly shot in pal. here consumer/prosumer cams only record/play ntsc tape. the other choice would be an HDV deck like a sony hvr-35u that can do pal/ntsc - about $5000 us.

OMG ! lol... listen to you lot ! Love all the people jumpng on the haters bandwagon ! Moon, Cheese, Rocket Ships lool... too much, seriously too much... boring life maybe ?
OK let's get to it, I shoot video for them... I used to capture/render the video myself for them and just supply the clips... the clips are for the internet... HD videos for the internet... Correct I am not a proffessional, I am sure your all big boys filming for hollywood... sure you dont get any newbs like me on here lol... sorry to invade your little club and interupt your self massaging !
Now they want to get the DV tapes and rip them themselves... which I am fine with but obviously the tapes I already shot are shot, nothing I can do about that...
So anyways here's a made idea, as a community how about helping someone out... no I dont want anyone to do my job for me... just give me a bit of advice. Thanks to Aedipuss for trying
