What is your reason for shooting Cineframe 30 ?
Cons:
- 1080i better for HDTV display.
- Resolution is only 1440x540 max.
- Half motion rate (Cineframe 30 tosses a field and copies to the other).
Pros:
- A downscale to 720x480 DVD doesn't show the ragged diagonals but still has half motion update.
- "pleasingly stuttery" ???

i don't have much of a choice the client says thats what they want and thats what the client gets... so i want to make it look as good as i can
any other suggestions for outdoor forest/river shooting -
You may want to try a progressive (deinterlaced) encode rather than the Cineframe 30. It works for me when using an FX1 camera and MovieEditPro 12.
I also recommend: Sharpness = 15; AE shift = +1; WB shift = +3; cinematone = ON; AWB = Low
The WB shift is beacuse Sony tends to shoot slightly blue compared to other cameras.
You should be able to set the shutter speed high outdoors (as opposed to a #2 ND filter setting).
After everything else is set, use a white piece of paper to do a white balance self adjustment (no preset). -
