I have a huge project ahead - transferring hi8 tapes to dvd - - I'm passing them through a digital camcorder to the pc. I purchased Premiere Elements 8 and although a total novice I am getting pretty good results.

My question is - is there any difference in quality if I use Premiere Elements to capture avi files v. other capture programs? I'm not an advance user so I don't understand all the settings under capture programs but would follow some of the guides here if the results would be noticeably better.
