  1. What causes a camcorder to make objects in the distance seem very far away? Is it the lens or just the consumer grade camera. It is an older (maybe 03 or 04 model) JVC GR D93, decent for its age. In other words, from 1' to say,20' the scale is pretty close but past 20' or so a known distance of 10 yds seems to be double or even triple that when played back on screen. Is this depth of field or ? This is all done without the lens in normal position ( not zoomed). Thanks Andy

  3. Are you saying I have a wide angle lens on the camera or I need a wide angle lens to not have the effect I described? Thanks Andy

  4. A wide angle lens makes things look far away. A zoom lens makes them look closer. Camcorders vary on how wide their widest angle is and how much they zoom.
