I have a Sony VX200E with a 6mm - 72 mm zoom lens and I am trying to establish what the 6 mm widest angle setting would equate to in 35mm full frame camera terms please?

google is your friend. you need to find the size of the cam's sensor first.

Are you sure about that model number?
Typical VX/PD series camcorders widest setting is close to a 35 mm SLR lens. I usually use a wide adapter on mine when hand held. With adapter it is close to a 24 mm SLR lensRecommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
