I have a hauppauge 1600 TV tuner and want to be able to record TV programs. However, wintv produces files that take up about 3gb/hour and won’t let me make any adjustments. I need a program that will allow me to record video and audio through the TV card. Most programs only allow you to receive audio through the sound card. I tried AMCap, which does allow you to get the audio from the video source, but the resulting video is choppy and unusable. Any suggestions?

You'll have to excuse him. he's been registered for six years and decided that now is to time to vomit out this jumble of words.
Six. Years. To. Research.
...and he didn't even try. Couldn't be bothered to look in the Tools section to the left. -
I have searched the forums and found nothing that pertains to my problem. There are 33 tools listed under capture, I have so far tried 6 of them and the only one that allowed me to capture audio from the video source was AMCap, and that is unusable for other reasons. I am still downloading and trying other programs, but I thought maybe someone could give me some advice and save a lot of time.
Maybe you shouldn't reply to post when you don't know what you're talking about.
