one has to wonder, if you can build a nuclear reactor for about 20 grand (assuming you use new retail parts) that isn't all that efficient, if your were given a significant amount more, say like 2 million bucks, couldn't you build a pretty powerful and efficient reactor?
and if you could, doesn't that mean it should be fairly easy and cost effective to break free of our dependence one fossil fuels and foreign oil? it seems like the limiting factor is how much sea water we can scrounge up and considering that 75% of the planet is water, i don't really see that as too big a problem.
