I am going to buy a new video card.

I am looking at the 5770 series card. It is confusing!

Why there are there so may different manufacturers of this 5770 series? What is the difference between the cards if they are all built from the 5770 architecture? They are at different pricings, too. In fact, Sapphire has many different 5770 series cards with different prices? Other manufactures are the same, with many versions of the 5770. What are the differences - the specs look the same!

    Someone please explain.

    Thanks.

They probably all are using the same basic chipsets, ATI or Nvidia. From there is comes down to the quality of the board itself and maybe the other chips on the board. About all you can go on are the reviews and feedback for the particular brand board, along with the warranty on the board.

Also some of them may have a better fan/heat sink and may be overclocked a bit, some may have a better core clock or memory clock. Check out the link for Newegg.com to get some detailed specs on them. You can also check mark the box next to two different cards you want to compare and click the compare tab for a side by side view.

The card with the customers choice award is the one I was going to get but I decided to go with Nvidia's GTX 260, the card in my picture good luck
