  1. OK I went about 6 pages into the forums and didn't see this. Sorry if someone has already posted this. Anyways the Bestbuy add says this Dvd(Mintek 2110) player will play Svcds. This is does but... IT cuts off the last 5 minutes of the Svcd. I burned my Svcds with Nero 5.x.x.x. I am really not sure what the problem is :(. If anyone could help it would be great because I bought this player just so I could play Svcd=).

Thanks talk to you guys later

  2. I will try to be more specific now that I have read some other post I see you need more info. I am burning the oceans 11 WS Svcd DVD screener (Fastempire). I am using Nero version 5.5.5.1. I have tried this Svcd along with the Lord of the rings 4 disc Svcd screener. Both of them cut off at the end of the disc 5 minutes too early (Thus ruining the movie). Again if anyone can help me that would be great =). If not I am goanna take it back and get another player.

Thansk for your time gusy hope someone can help =)

  3. I've had my 2110 about 3 months now and have noticed the same problem. It cuts off the last 5 or 10 minutes. It only seems to do it with SVCD. Haven't figured it out yet. Anyone got any advice?

  4. Yea take it back =). Thats what I had to do. I think best buy or this site shouldn't say it can play svcds. Becuase the damn thing always cuts it off making it useless for SVCDs.

It's a good player but it is not designed to play SVCDs. Only Stop, Play and chapter/folder jumping will work with this format. FF, Pause, etc., should work fine with VCD although I haven't tried it. You can burn several small segments of video at once and then jump forward or backward. The one I returned also cut off the last 3 minutes or so.

I liked that the controls were also on the front of the player but the remote control grid like buttons were too clutterd together.

" Mintek products are not compatible with the SVCD format but they should be able to pause and fast forward VCD movies.
