  1. Hello,
I'm in a bit of a situation here. I love virtualdub and have been using it for ages. Recently, I decided to go through my collection of video files and decide what to keep or not to keep, and cut out bits that are wasting space (or that I do not like). I have hundreds of files, in varying formats, many of which virtualdub does not support, at least not to my knowledge.

    I would like either:
    • some help in learning how to add support for these files, that is, to be able to open the file, cut out parts of it (or maybe merge similar files that were split for some reason), and then save using "direct stream copy" to avoid tedious encoding and wasted time. This works wonderfully for avi files, but only about 20% of my stuff can be opened with my version of virtualdub (downloaded about a year ago, haven't added anything to it). Majority of files include: .mpeg/mpg, .mp4, .mkv, .wmv, and a few .avi files that don't seem to work in virtualdub.
    • OR, recommendation of software, preferably a very light application (like how virtual dub is very small and straight to the point) that can open such files as mentioned above, and perform the same functions (open file, cut out stuff, and save as a copy to avoid any encoding).
    Thanks for any help.
