  1. Hey, I've got 4:3 Movie, but want to play it on my Sony Home Theatre with 16:9 format and with subtitles. What should I do to Save this Movie into 16:9 format? I know howto add subtitles but I don't know howto change format Maybe it's good idea to cut down of the movie, but I don't know...

    You haven't given many details of what equipment you're using, but a properly configured player + monitor combination would do all that automatically (i.e. pillarbox the 4:3 video onto a 16:9 screen).

    Unless you think you know better than the original director and decide to start cropping the image cause it's not "full screen"

    If your TV has an option to zoom 4:3 to 16:9 use it,it is the best way to convert 4:3 to 16:9. Any re-encode you do will lose quality.

    The only way to do this is to pick a L X W size that is a 16:9 aspect ratio, a size that falls within your current 4:3. Say for example your 4:3 is 704 X 528, then pick size like 688 X 384 for your new size. You want something close to your original size, lengthwise, so you won't have to crop so much.

    Set your autosize to 16:9, and make sure you use the CROP feature to decide where, and how much, to trim off from the top and bottom of your final video. That's where the most will come off, but some will come from the left and right side as well.
