  1. I recorded around 30 mini dv tapes on a JVC GR-D270 mini dv camcorder. When the camcorder broke, I bought a Sony DCR-HC52 so I could transfer all of the tapes to my Imac. To my dismay, the play back was horrible. It comes in very choppy and then at times comes crystal clear. I just don't get it. I don't know what to do.......... anyone have any answers? The Sony is brand new, and if I record onto the Sony it plays back just fine. Help please!

I would try playing the tapes on yet another DV camera and see it it works better. But you may have corrupted tapes, happened in storage somehow, or the tapes just do not agree with the new Sony camera.

  3. go to wal-mart (for fast return) and look for another JVC camera (better with firewire).if you still have the same issue.it could be dirty/bad tapes,or a compatibility issue

use WinDv if you have a firewire on your cam.no drivers needed.USB doesn't work with windv
