Where Have All The Chipsets Gone?

Intel seems to have total control of the chipset market. It's Intel only with Socket 1366 and 1156. Even Socket 775 is 95% Intel,with a couple of MB's from nVidia and Via. No competition equals higher prices.

Amd are making a fair amount of chipsets and motherboards.

intel sued nvidia out of the chipset market, via was always second best if that, and that just about leaves intel for their chips.
