it looks like every currently available sandy bridge supporting motherboard is affected, amd is rumored to be dancing a jig and i get to hold onto my tax refund a while longer.Intel just announced that it has identified a bug in the 6-series chipset, specifically in its SATA controller. Intel states that "In some cases, the Serial-ATA (SATA) ports within the chipsets may degrade over time, potentially impacting the performance or functionality of SATA-linked devices such as hard disk drives and DVD-drives.".

So glad I decided to wait for the z68 chipsets to come out. I think I'll let those age a few months too before buying.
