Hi,
I'm having real trouble exporting anything from PPro CS4 of late: regardless of what codec I choose, be it lossless or not, my exported clips always come out slightly blurry and of low quality, as in this screenshot of a Lagarith-encoded output (left) and the source clip (right, 720p59.94). I've checked and double-checked that I've definitely not enabled deinterlacing on any of the clips, the dimensions and FPS of the exported sequence matches the source material and that I'm applying no weird filters or anything, but I'm getting absolutely nowhere with this.
Does anybody know what on earth Premiere might be doing to these in order to make them come out at such horrible quality? I'm still suspicious that, somewhere in the process, it's being deinterlaced, but I'm totally unable to find where on earth this could be happening. I've set the field order to Progressive in both the sequence settings and the export settings...
cheers

Of late? did it work fine before or?
And maybe ask in the premiere support forum, http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere -
If you are comparing left vs. right, it doesn't look like a blurry vs. non-blurry issue. It looks more like a levels issue.
What are your source formats? How are you viewing these and how are you taking screenshots? Do you have more than 1 video application open at 1 time?
PPCS4 clamps all non native YUV formats to 16-235 luminance. So if you imported a fraps or lagarith capture of a video game (which would normally use PC levels 0-255) , levels would be clamped. The only YUV import formats premiere doesn't clamp are ones that it has presets for, and uncompressed. Even if you use uncompressed, you have to export uncompressed in order to get the proper color matrix to fix later, as premiere assumes rec.601 (unless your footage was SD and rec.601 to begin with , instead of rec.709 for HD)
