What makes you think it can be made "region free" ?
Is it an old machine or was it purchased new recently ?
If it was purchased new recently, i would return it and research a player that can be made region free before buying one.
Google is our friend 8)
The only thing i could find, although i did not put a ton of time into my 10 second google search,

The mag. 7006 is not new, but not very old either. I was told that it can be made region free, but I need instructions on how to do this. Thanks for your reply however.

I don't think so. If u check on this site a lot of dvd players can be hacked to be region free if u know what you are doing.

As an alternative, you can leave the DVD player alone and simply make region-free backup DVDs of the originals. As long as there are no NTSC/PAL issues, you'll be fine. I get movies from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other NTSC Asian countries (FYI - not all Region 2 and 3 DVDs are PAL), and use a ripping tool like DVD Decrypter or DVDFab to make them playable on my US Region 1 unit.
Of course, if your Region 2 and 3 discs come from Europe (PAL and SECAM countries), you are going to have a new set of issues beyond mere region encoding... -
Region 2 dvds are the ones I am wanting to play. Surely someone knows how to hack a magnavox 7006?
-
You may not be aware of this, but many manufacturers have taken steps to make their DVD players un-hackable. Do not assume it is possible with your model. There is a reason why separate region-free players are sold. If, by chance, you ever find a region-free hack to your Magnavox, by all means, share it with us.
Do your Region 2 DVDs come from Asia or Europe? If it is the latter, you will still have problems playing them, even if you get around the region encoding (see my previous post). The US is an NTSC country. You won't be able to play PAL discs on your Magnavox. -

Please post the hack code here:

No negative people here; just those who aware of the reality that many, many models cannot be hacked. You uncovered something that had not been posted here. Share the info so that others won't have the same difficulties. -
Newegg ?
Since when does Newegg have tips on how to hack dvd players ?
I did a search there for this model and came up with nothing.
I smell something and it's not roses -
