Can someone tell me how you can tell if a captured AVI has interlacing or not? I'm capturing using vitualdub my home video Pal 352x288 (the highest res my tv card can capture) through the tuner on the card using an rf converter. I've read on this site & also been told in previous posts that VCD does not support interlace. I've applied various de-interlace filters in virtualdub and also followed the guides on using these filters but the resulting AVI does not look as good as the original avi. Could this be because the captured AVI is not interlaced? I've tried several ways to look at the properties of the AVI but in each instance interlacing does not get mentioned. Can anyone help?

If you are capturing at a vertical resolution of 288 the video will not be interlaced you need to capture at 576 to get a full frame capture (interlaced). Just by playing the video back on your pc you can tell if it is interlaced, If you have to ask wether it is or not, then it is'nt.
