Guidance needed on how to start editing vids

alright im new to this forum and this whole editing world
i'm sorry if i posted this in the wrong category it seemed like a good place to start so here i go.

i need some guidance on how to start editing vids for example: some editing of some montages that i found to be spectacular:
YouTube - Joe :: CoD4 Montage :: Double Dare
YouTube - Artsy by Joe
YouTube - THEY IS | Search and Destroy Movie
(and unfortuantly i could not find my favorite one i looked though my youtube history {alot} and couldnt find it)

how do i do this i find this amazing

can i do it with free programs b/c i really dont think i can buy a program

You'll need a full fledged editor like Vegas or Premiere. You could do most if it with AviSynth and VirtualDub but it would take you much longer.

2. Search for online tutorials on how to use it.

3. Make a sandwich and eat it.
